6th of October City, Egypt
6th of October City is a relatively new city of more than three
quarters of a million people approximately one hour from Cairo. Cairo is a cosmopolitan city of approximately 20 million
people, and home to many expatriates (Canadians, Americans, British, Australians, etc). The city bustles with energy and excitement.
The spectacular Nile River runs through the city and into upper Egypt. The climate is very warm and dry.
Heritage International School
Heritage
International School is a private and exclusive school for Egyptian students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The school was
built in 2006 and offers a Canadian (Province of Manitoba) curriculum. The school offers a very high standard of education,
and is highly regarded in Cairo as first class in its education of students.
As of
January, 2021 the school is K-Grade 12 with a student population of more than 500 students and is growing dramatically.
The school
is located in Al-Yasmine Greenland, a gated community that is new and in the "6th of October City", an exclusive area forty-five
minutes southwest of Cairo.
The multi-story
architecturally designed school has ultra modern classrooms, a theatre, an indoor gymnasium, a two story library, a cafeteria,
language labs, science labs and a teacher prep area.
Classes
are small and are student centered in philosophy. Children learn in English as they are immersed in the Manitoba curricula.
The Heritage Nursery School is next door to the school and provides an opportunity for students as young as three to learn
in English.
